Hey kids!

So, I was pretty tardy and left my camera connecty cord thingy at school, so I’m just now uploading all the pics/videos I took over Spring Break.

My bad.

The first half of the break was pretty hip. Work on Saturday, then a night at Gypsy’s for pool and copious amounts of alcohol.  [Click on pictures for BIGNESS]

TJ has a pretty purse

Bobbi talks shit

Krystal gets into it

TJ is attractive

Random rapper with Hilary Clinton mask

Then home for some Jenga and cheap beer,…

…Nicole’s gangsta face,…

…and budding romance. *Cue the “awws”*

I had to work first shift Monday morning at the ‘bucks. Nothing too exciting there. After work I went home and finished up my craptacular display for the Behavioral Psych Conference, met with Katrina, (after mass confusion) and headed to her house.

I have no idea why kids find me so appealing. It’s a mystery to me, but I know that Katrina’s kids were on me like white on rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm. Anyway, long story short, we got next to no sleep before waking up (at 4:15am) to get ready and get on the road to Athens. We got there ridiculously early thanks to Katrina’s driving skillz, met with Dr. B., and started the fun-filled, joyous day full of smart-assery, jelly beans, starbursts, and bad directions (my fault).

Dr. B. acts like he is doing something important

The drive home sucked, due to the tornado warnings, but the sky looked pretty amazing.

I worked Wednesday at Chick-fil-a. It’s not as fun as it used to be. The new people are bleh.

Hung out with Krys and the gang Wednesday night. While stopping for ice I spotted this gem in Piedmont:

If you don’t laugh at that you are dead inside. DEAD.

…but seriously, that sandwich is not really huge. It’s just a burger and a slice of cheese on what looks like two top-buns. Sesame seeds on both sides bitches!

Anyway, thats when things started to go downhill. I felt really out of it all night, like my head was underwater. Thursday after work I felt like shit, and Friday I woke up wishing for death. Managed to make it through work, but by the end of the day I had no voice and it hurt to swallow. Nothing beats getting sick on Spring break.

Didn’t make it to Matt’s wedding on Saturday because my bed was my home. I’m still feeling shitty, and I’m hoping that this theraflu nighttime severe cold stuff will kick in soon so I can get some sleep.

Oh and I didn’t do anything remotely school related over the break. I was planning on reading Pierre over the weekend, but that obviously didn’t happen. I hope Dr. Willis doesn’t decide to give us a quiz tomorrow today ’cause I’m gonna be screwed if he does.

Anywho, I’m probably leaving out tons of stuff, but recapping a week in one post sucks, especially when I’m pretty out of it.  Note for future: don’t do that!

Night!

Super Quick Weekend Update

02-15-08 – 02-17-08

Friday was pretty uneventful. My alarm didn’t go off so I completely missed my 9 o’clock class.

Someone apparently ran around Greenwood and pissed in all of my professor’s cornflakes because everyone seems to be on edge lately. Dr. Willis got mad because almost no one in the class had read what we were supposed to for Friday’s class, so he retaliated by making us write a paper on Moby Dick (which I *still* haven’t finished). I just can’t seem to get motivated to finish this damn book.

After class I went to help Parsons and Tim on some extremely fun data entry for the research team (which Dr. Edwards never seems to let me know anything about).

Then it was home to clean up and head home.

Saturday was pretty much like every other day at Starbucks. We were incredibly slow and I was being incredibly OCD. So everything got scrubbed down, organized, and labeled.

It was Durley’s 21st birthday! Yay!

Birthday Girl

For some reason my signs for work always look crappy

Saturdays are so freaking slow. A lot of our time was spent staring blankly into the cafeteria…

Sunday was boring. I didn’t take any pictures today, sorry folks. I’ve been slowly (very slowly) hacking away at my to do list….and I’m not even remotely finished yet. So I’m gonna get back to work and stop procrastinating.

See you tomorrow,

Juniper

Tis a beauty, eh?

02-14-08

So after staying up until 3ish and waking up every few hours last night, today was interesting.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning, and my plans to wake up at 6 and head to the library to get some reading done didn’t exactly pan out. Instead, I hit the snooze about 40 times and finally got out of bed around 8. I somehow made it to my 9 o’clock class, showered and clothed, on time.

Dr. Acorn’s wonderful new attendance policy didn’t exactly work out like she had planned. Since there was about 6 people in class every day and the test averages were horrible, she decided to start taking attendance….today wasn’t that much different than any other day. Way to go, Deb.

So by the time I finished my 2nd iced soy chai tea, I was officially delirious, along with the majority of my English 406 class. After a wonderful rendition of the Michael Jackson song from Free Willy [you know that will be stuck in your head for hours], we went to class where we creeped out the ever-cynical Dr. Willis with our general happiness. Willis did take my side on the never ending Starbuck’s debate with Mike by making a new class rule: DO NOT CRITICIZE STARBUCK’S.

Went to psych 299. Nothing exciting there…Grace seems to present a project EVERY EFFIN DAY. Half of the class would rather jump off the roof than hear her talk (you know you would Lauren, Ashley, Nicole, and Jessica).

So there’s no photo of the day today because I was asleep between 1 and 2, and until they invent something to photograph dreams….I’ll be without photos.

Jen and I went out to The Alcoves, Ruby Tuesday, and Walmart. I bought Brother Bear….awesome movie. It definitely makes the top 10 list of Disney movies simply because of the moose…

I also bought the most kick-ass cookies imaginable.

mmmmm

Well, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I’m off to read.

Weekend Update

01-25-08, 01-26-08, & 01-27-08

The theme of this weekend was apparently “extreme lack of motivation.”

Exciting!

01-25-08

It’s official. I didn’t take one photo on Friday.

After my nine o’clock class I came home and fell asleep…and didn’t wake up until almost 2. Yeah, I know, that’s sad. I just haven’t been getting much sleep lately (mostly because of my extreme procrastination/stress) and I guess Friday was my day to catch up on some Z’s.

01-26-08

Went to work, as per usual. Out of the norm though, was the fact that my alarm didn’t go off and I didn’t get up until 5:45. I have to leave my house by 5 after 6 to get to work on time. Needless to say, I was a bit rushed.

Work was fine, for the most part… [click photos for bigness]

…until the espresso machine decided to break. We have two machines, one of which has been messed up for a while. The other decided to start to pull nothing but black sludge instead of espresso. Sounds tasty right? I thought so.

Anyway, so we had to use the other machine, which leaks. Considering the fact that those machines cost about $45,000 each, I can see why the hospital isn’t exactly throwing the money at us to buy a new one, but we need it.

Other than that, we were pretty slow.

Our mascot, 1:16pm

Tony, Kevin, and I went out for dinner and a movie that night. We me up with Ashley for dinner at Red Robin, which was quite tasty.

We learned new words.

We saw Juno [which I highly recommend], then went to Kev’s house. The following are the results from Kevin playing with my camera:

Attractive.

01-27-08 [Happy Birthday Jennifer P!]

Mom and I had a bit of a girl’s day out today. We went to the mall and shopped it up.

Photo of the Day:

Purchasing unmentionables, 1:57pm

We kept running into Katrina and Mary. I’m pretty sure they were stalking us. They even followed us out of the mall and to Steve and Barry’s. Haha!

Then it was back to school and back to procrastination. Tonight’s form of procrastination: The Little Mermaid.

Does anyone find it kinda creepy that Ariel was only 16? Anyone know how old Prince Eric was?

Anywho, I’m gonna finish watching the movie and then attempt to get some of my work done.

See you tomorrow!

Weekend Update

1-19-08 & 1-20-08

Apparently I missed the memo that this weekend was “Technological Failure Weekend ‘08.” My camera’s batteries died soon after taking the photo of the day on Saturday, and me, being the tard that I am, left my battery charger in Greenwood. So there is only one picture for this weekend, and it’s not exciting in the least.

Also, I’ve been fighting with my new computer since Friday night. I’m still trying to get everything I need installed on it, but with my internet dropping on me all the time it makes it slightly more difficult. So now that I’ve finally got things working properly on it (we’ll see how long that lasts), I can start to do some of the ridiculous amounts of homework I have to do before Tuesday.

Photo of the Day [(01-19-08) click for bigness]:

Work, 1:02pm

If you ever wanted to know what goes on behind the counter at a Starbucks, the answer is: a whole lot of nothing, that is, until 15 minutes before closing when suddenly everyone needs coffee ASAP and no one seems to know what’s on the menu.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves with customers. PLEASE do not stare blankly at the menu for 5 minutes then ask “what’s good?” What’s good?! Our tap water is fabulous. Thank you for wasting everyone’s time. The people behind you really appreciate waiting on you to make your order, no please take 5 more minutes to decide that you want a strawberries and creme frappuccino. Oh yeah, by the way we are technically closed right now, but I’m willing to wait. You’re THAT important to me.

Just for clarification: I am perfectly fine with the phrase “what do you recommend?” or “hows the such and such,” but when people that look like they just walked in off the set of COPS ask “what’s good” it makes me want to die a little. Take your 8 kids that are running around the store back to the trailer and stop asking me to make you “one of ‘em cappercinners like they gots at the gas station in ‘em lil machines.” Also, none of the cappuccinos come with “coo’ whip” and the word is grande not “grand.”

We cringe when we see you coming, we know you are going to be a pain. So if you’re wondering why your cup says “GSC” on it, it’s because we just made you a “Gas Station Cappuccino” which has sugar as its main ingredient with a side of coffee and a splash of milk. You just got a white chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut latte with extra whipped cream. Yes, I know you love it. It tastes just like the ones you get at the gas station of your choice for $1.00. You have a good day ma’am.

Anyway, I have work to do. Enough of my procrastination.

Until tomorrow,
Juniper
